The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the WTC

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center,
New York, New York

The World Trade Center (WTC) Memorial was designed as voids that will be located on the footprints of the original Twin Towers. Appropriately named Reflecting Absence, the Memorial will feature cascading water falling into illuminated reflecting pools. The names of the 2,979 who perished in the September 11th attacks in New York City, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania and the February 1993 WTC bombing will be inscribed around the edge of the memorial waterfalls.

Next to the memorial will be a state-of-the art museum designed to imbue the emotions of the human spirit realized from the loss and triumph of the 9/11 attacks.
